Some great reviews for House Wihout Door
Tue, Jul. 21 2009
Here are a few links:

Review by Bruce Lindsay in All About Jazz

http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=33534

A nice quote from this article ...

"House Without A Door is one of the most engaging and original albums to emerge in 2009."

and

"The brothers' writing and playing is technically skilled, but unlike many other young jazz musicians they also invest both with some genuine emotion and originality. As a result, the entire album has a maturity that is rare in players who are barely into their early twenties."

Review by Ken Franckling on his Jazz Notes Blog

http://kenfrancklingjazznotes.blogspot.com/2009/06/cds-of-note_26.html

A nice quote from this article ...

"It is fresh and forward-thinking, blending strong jazz roots with inescapable rock influences (particularly Radiohead) into an emotional and energetic sound that grabs the ears and won’t let go."

June 2007 Newsletter
Wed, Jun. 6 2007
Le Boeuf Brothers Newsletter Hello! This is Remy writing to let you all know what Pascal and I are up to this summer. Right now I’m on a train to Montreal, where we’re about to begin a short tour of Canada. We’ll be playing in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and then we’re heading back down to “the states” (as they call them here) to play in Syracuse before arriving back in New York City. We’re both very excited because this is our first tour outside of the U.S. It’s really nice in Canada; it’s pretty hot over here right now, although the train I’m in is air conditioned like the North Pole! Anyhow, here are the dates for the Canada tour… June 14th – Montreal @ L’Absynthe June 15th – Toronto @ The Rex – with guests Mike Ruby & Damian Dobrowolski June 16th – Ottawa @ The Avant Garde Bar –with guest Nathan Cepelinski June 17th – Syracuse, NY @ Jazz Central – with guest Tom Bronzetti and the band… Remy Le Boeuf – Sax Pascal Le Boeuf – Organ, Piano, Fender Rhodes *Greg Evans – Drums (*only in Syracuse) Marc Beland - Drums *Rick Rosato – Bass (*only in Montreal) If you want to learn more about the Canada tour check out our website, www.lbjazz.com In late June we’ll finally be back home in Santa Cruz, California!! So if you want to come see us, here are some of the shows we will be playing… July 12th – San Francisco at Jazz@Pearl’s August 2nd – Santa Cruz at The Kuumbwa Jazz Center Just between you and me… the show at Kuumbwa will be extra special, because not only will it be with the band we’re recording our next album with this fall, but it’s also the day before our 21st birthday! So at the end of the show mayhem will likely ensue! Try to make reservations for these shows. Pearl’s prefers this and Kuumbwa usually sells out. Kuumbwa (831) 427-2227 www.kuumbwajazz.org, Pearl’s 415.291.8255 http://www.jazzatpearls.com/ For shows the band will be: Ambrose Akinmusire – a trumpet (Kuumbwa) Robby Marshall - Tenor Saxophone (Pearl's) Remy Le Boeuf – a Saxophone or two Pascal Le Boeuf – a piano, and perhaps a rhodes Dave Robaire – a Bass (flying out from NY) Zack Harmon (Kuumbwa)– a Drum Set (flying out from LA) Hamir Atwal (Pearl’s) – a Drum Set The music we’ll be playing will be the music on our next CD, which we will hopefully have finished by the time we come home for the winter holidays. As you all may or may not know, Pascal and I both just finished our Bachelor’s degrees at the Manhattan School of Music this May in New York. I’ll be coming back there to get my Master’s degree and Pascal is taking a year off to travel around, writing electronic music and collaborating with other musicians, before he gets his Master’s at MSM as well in the fall of 2008. His home bases will likely be in New York and Santa Cruz so you might see him around. He will also be spending some time in Miami and Boston. This will be the first year ever that we’ll be living apart, so hopefully, we’ll both will have learned a lot about ourselves so that when we come back together next year we’ll both have some new creative ideas to draw from. FYI We have a few other accomplishments to report for 2007: We both received ASCAP Young Composer Awards, DownBeat Student Awards: Pascal for Composition, Remy for Arranging and Performance in Jazz and Blues/Pop/Rock. Remy also won the West Coast Songwriter Award for Jazz. Well, I hope to see you all this summer at one point or another. If anyone wants to contact Pascal or me our emails are remy@lbjazz.com and pascal@lbjazz.com Have a great summer!!! -Remy Le Boeuf www.lbjazz.com www.myspace.com/remyleboeuf If you do not want to receive these emails, please respond to this email with “remove” in the subject line.
